Safety of the highest standard

International Summer Jewellery and Watches Trade Fair JUBINALE began on June 25 and lasted for 3 days. We asked Andrzej Sadowski from PB Group (organizer) whether preparing the event in the current situation was a big challenge.

- There were several problems. First of all, the short time that we had after the decision of the Council of Ministers, therefore less than a month. Secondly, the interpretation of the introduced regulations. Assessment of which restrictions are mandatory and which are only recommendations. We strictly followed the guidelines of the regulation, which requires wearing masks in closed facilities and limiting the number of participants to 1 person per 4 square metre. In addition, together with the EXPO Kraków team, we have developed principles to ensure the maximum level of security for all participants of the JUBINALE.

During the event, the body temperature of every person entering the facility and the disinfection of hands were required. Each exhibitor received a bottle of disinfectant fluid and a disposable glove packet from the organizer to make them available to buyers before making trade talks at the stand. Each stand was disinfected every hour.

- We realize that during jewellery trade fairs as such, wearing plastic gloves can lead to slipping of the object being viewed (in the case of amber, a fall can cause a stone to crack, and that piece of jewellery is very expensive). And that is why we appreciate more the efforts of our exhibitors to reconcile the security regulations with their work during the event.

What's more, the distance between participants was enabled by 5-meter communication routes. EXPO Kraków has 14,000 sq m of usable floor space, including a set of seminar rooms and rooms adapted to various types of meetings. All spaces were prepared in accordance with the top regulations of the Chief Sanitary Inspector.

- I think that the EXPO Krakow facility is perfectly adaptable to current regulations, especially in the case of B2B events - adds Andrzej Sadowski.

Meetings are always included

JUBINALE took place on a smaller scale than before, but this was not a surprise in the era of reduced demand and the sanitary regime.

 - In fact, until the first day of the trade fair nobody knew what to expect. Compared to the previous year, 1/3 of the companies exhibited and it soon turned out that a proportional number of buyers appeared.

In addition to exhibitors and participants from Poland, there were also guests from abroad: from Slovakia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Austria, Great Britain and even China.

- We also noticed an interesting relationship: this year, the buyers came alone or with a single accompanying person. This means that there were practically no "visitors", all buyers came with specific shopping needs, making the meetings more valuable - says Andrzej Sadowski.

When asked about impressions from trade fairs, company representatives replied that they were "happy to be back in the game," for sales, and therefore to be back in action. Mr. Andrzej Sadowski from the PB Group is also pleased with the successful challenge.

- I am glad that we organized this edition of the JUBINALE Trade Fair. The industry is undergoing very dynamic changes and it is difficult to predict what will happen in a month or even a week. Thanks to the fact that the event took place, the jewelry industry could take a step towards "normality". We all miss this normality. I also hope that the modern EXPO KRAKÓW facility will now be regularly vibrant with life, as it used to be!
