Low emission zone - information for customers
From 1 January 2026, a low emission zone (LEZ) will be in force in Krakow, covering approximately 60% of the city (roughly the area inside the fourth ring road). Entry into the city will be dependent on the vehicle's emission standards. This information is particularly important for customers travelling to Krakow by car.
Which vehicles can enter without restrictions?
- Petrol cars (including LPG) - Euro 4 standard or manufactured in 2005 or later
- Diesel passenger cars (up to 3.5 t) – Euro 6 standard or manufactured in 2014 or later
- Heavier vehicles (diesel) - Euro VI standard or manufactured in 2012 or later
If your vehicle meets the requirements and is registered in Poland, it will be automatically admitted to the LEZ - no action is required.
Fees for vehicles that do not meet the standards (transitional period 2026-2028)
- Hourly fee: PLN 2.50
- Daily fee in 2026: after paying for 2 consecutive hours, the vehicle can travel on the LEZ until the end of the day
- Monthly subscription (for people who regularly commute to Krakow):
2026 - PLN 100
2027 - PLN 250
2028 - PLN 500
Vehicles registered outside Poland must be reported to the LEZ system, even if they meet emission standards.
